Christmas box frequently asked questions

Order on our special Christmas orders page: https://xmas.youplateit.com.au

You Plate It discounts and store credit are not available for use on the special menu.

How many people does it feed?

We offer two generous serving sizes. Each serving size is designed to feed an adult. We offer serving sizes for 6 adults, or 12 adults. If you have a larger party, order more of the same recipe. The 12 serve kits are actually two of the 6 serve kits.

Do you deliver to my area?

We deliver to the Perth area. You can see our delivery areas here: https://youplateit.com.au/delivery-areas/

Email and ask us about special delivery requests or new areas.

What do I need to provide?

You will be cooking the recipes, and we send the ingredients. You will, however, need some pantry basics: Salt, pepper, oil, butter, and milk.

Do I need any special equipment?

You won't need anything "special", but it is the standard Christmas affair, so you'll need an oven, some baking trays, fry pan, saucepan, maybe a BBQ if you select those recipes.

Can we swap ingredients?

Unfortunately we can't accomodate any changes to the recipes or ingredients.

Do I need to be a You Plate It customer?

No. Anyone can purchase.

Do I need to pause my subscription if I order a Christmas box?

The Christmas order is unrelated to our regular subscriptions, and so if you have a subscription with us, ordering a Christmas Box will not automatically pause your regular subscription. If you do not want to receive your weekly box alongside the Christmas Box, make sure to log into your account and pause your subscription for that week.

When will it be delivered?

You Christmas Box will be delivered on Sunday 22 December 2024, just in time for Christmas day. We will send an estimated time of delivery a few days before (once we have confirmed order numbers and designed the route plan).

Can I cancel my Christmas Box?

You can cancel and get a full refund before 15 Dec. After that, unfortunately, all purchases are final and we're unable to cancel or refund. We're working closely with our local suppliers and farmers to ensure all the ingredients are fresh. Canceled orders will mean wasted food (not ideal, especially at Christmas). If you need to cancel get in touch ASAP. email contact@youplateit.com.au

What if I'm not home to receive my delivery?

Don't worry if you're not home - all your food is packed carefully into a specially insulated box that will keep your groceries fresh and refrigerated. As long as you are able to transfer the contents to your fridge once you are home, everything will be fresh and delicious until late on the day of delivery.

How long will it take me to cook the feast?

Cooking your Christmas feast is designed to be easy whether you're the only cook, or you have some of Santa's little helpers to assist.

The time depends largely on the recipes you select. Give yourself a few hours, and do some preparation the day before by reading the recipe cards and understanding what you need to do.

Allergens!

Our recipe kits are prepared in a facility that packs and contains all major allergens. We cannot accommodate allergies. Our recipe kits include: peanut, tree nuts, milk, egg, fish, shellfish, wheat (gluten), sesame and soy.
