Is your packaging environmentally friendly?
This is something we take seriously, and we are leaders in packaging technology within the meal kit industry.
Our packaging can be divided into two broad categories: 1) packaging used for food, and 2) packaging used to transport the food to your home.
We take action to minimise our environmental footprint in both these categories.
Food packaging:
It's essential that we wrap and protect your food – both for food safety and to protect it from going bad. Almost all our food packaging is compostable and is FOGO ready (that's the kerbside green waste collection many councils do). These compostable materials are made from renewable resources and are the future of sustainable food packaging.
Where ingredients have been pre-packed by our suppliers (primarily meats and fish), we try to encourage sustainable packaging, but in many cases it is not available.
Delivery packaging:
We collect and reuse all of this. The box, insulated liner and ice pack used to keep your food fresh will be collected next time we make a delivery. We will prepare it for reuse and use them again. This means the delivery box you receive will not be in "new" condition, but it doen't need to be.
